Advance Praise for Purgatory Chasm:“Ulfelder couples precise, evocative prose with an original private investigator in his compelling hard-boiled debut…. Ulfelder smoothly navigates the many plot twists, and effortlessly introduces wrinkles in his protagonist's backstory that enhance the character. Fans of Michael Koryta's PI crime novels will find a lot to like.” –Publishers Weekly, starred review

Rebecca Coleman - the Kingdom of Childhood

Year of Publication:

The excerpt opens with the narrator remembering bits and pieces of her childhood while living in Bavaria and going sledding with the brother of a friend. The story then moves forward twenty years and we catch up with her as a mom with high school age kids who is also a teacher in the lower school where her son attends. Life is not perfect when chasing around small children in a classroom all day and taking care of husband and teenagers at night, and her weariness Is felt by the reader. This is definitely one of the outstanding excerpts I have read.

Lucinda K. Porter - Free from Hepatitis C

Image:

Your Complete Guide to Healing Hepatitis C , Foreword :“I was cured of hepatitis C!” I never expected to utter those words when I was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1996. Receiving a diagnosis of hepatitis C is a life-changing event, and at that time little was known about chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) and how to live with it, and what was known was confusing and contradictory. At best, being infected with HCV was nothing to worry about; at worst, I was going to die from it very soon.
